People who are severely obese tend to take smaller and shallower breaths, in what is known as Pickwickian syndrome. These small, gasping breaths may not deliver as much oxygen into the blood as needed, leaving the obese person feeling chronically tired. Many overweight and obese individuals have asthma, and obesity is a factor that can worsen its symptoms. Extra weight makes it harder for the lungs to work right, particularly at night when a person is lying down. This may also cause asthma-like symptoms without actually being asthma. Instead, these symptoms may result from restrictive lung disease, which is best helped by weight loss rather than by inhalers. In severe cases, the restriction that excess weight puts on the lungs can lead to obesity hypoventilation syndrome-a condition in which blood oxygen decreases and carbon dioxide increases because the lungs cannot function properly. This condition can lead to daytime sleepiness and eventually to congestive heart failure. It is important to note that shortness of breath can also sometimes indicate undiagnosed heart disease.

Overall I agree with the article..most gloves are kinda crappy and really don't work.

Don I actually went and bought a pair after visiting the site and its really interesting...they arnt really gloves at all but do everything a glove is suppose to do.

I just love the wrist support its good espcially doing bench. anyways first time really buying gloves online for working out it was a good experience.

Honestly my experience with workout gloves and straps has been useless for the last 20 years of working out. I am now into crossfit prior to that it was all about power lifting and bodybuilding. No matter what the exercise was I could never get a proper grip not to mention all of the mishaps caused with workout gloves and straps. So I found this company called Original Ideas in California they designed an innovative workout grip which replaced the traditional glove and straps. They are fairly cheap but work extremely well. Check them out at www.GripzGloves.com . I think Gripz are backed by Powerhouse gyms which means they are certified!

Here is some information from their site about Gripz Gloves:

Gripz Gloves is the world’s best weight lifting aid for both beginners and experienced weight lifters. Men and women use Gripz Gloves to maximize their results in the gym and minimize calluses, sore hands/wrists and other conditions that limit their ability to be the best in the gym.

Gripz Gloves allows you to make significant gains no matter what kind of exercise you are working on. Simply compress the grip into any type of iron weight or exercise machine and start working out and open the grip with your fingers for an easy release after your exercise.

Best of luck
